This was the best Scooby movie so far it had it all action, adventure, mystery, and comedy! And most importanly it remained upright to the recent format with the monster being a unfounded, the DVD extras are also stunning honorable and it leaves you wanting to look it over and over again! Trust me you will not be dissapointed. This is a determined have to hold film!!!

Scooby Doo and the Monster of Mexico was no doubt the weakest of the original Scooby Doo involving features. Loch Ness Monster is a remarkable improvement.

This time the gang head off to Scotland to gawk the Highland Games and visit Blake castle, Daphne’s ancestral home. And wouldn’t you know, the castle happens to be in the ‘quaint’ fishing village of Drumnadrochit, on the shores of Loch Ness.

During their conclude they meet a few arresting folks. First there is Fiona Pembrooke, a scientist who has drowned all of her money into finding the Loch Ness Monster.

Sir Ian Locksley, the boss of the National Heritage Museum of Scotland, he is valid non-believer of Nessie.

The Haggarts, the have a cozy Inn on the shores of the loch. The sons are a couple of local jokers, always into mischief.

Del Chilman, a wild, paranoid hippie dude who is convinced the monster is out there and will discontinuance at nothing on obtain her.

And finally, Duncan MacGubbin, the dock master who has seen Nessie too many times to count.

Most of these characters are stereotypes, which gets a bit annoying as this is teaching younger audiences a load of crap and giving the unfavorable impression. However if you can immune yourself to it you’ll be alright. Being from Scotland I can’t succor but wince at the awfully mimicked Scottish accents. Fact: We DON’T sound like that.

Soon enough Nessie, looking rather more demonic than ‘usual’, shows up and causes havoc. Looks like the gang have another mystery on their hands. The usual race scenes, clues and Shaggy’s wacky disguises follow. There are plenty of laughs. The animation is elegant, with some atmospheric scenes and locations. And the station a lot better than Monster of Mexico.

The only abominable thing this time around is the music. I miss Louis Febre’s scoring and the songs here are heavenly deplorable too. Where are the Hex Girls when you need ‘em?

The location 2 DVD is in crystal sure 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen (the space 1 ain’t) with Dolby 5.0 sound. Some okay extras are included. Definitely worth getting.

“Ken Park” has been controversial because of its explicit presentation of precise sexual acts by actors portraying high school kids and because it has been banned in some English-speaking countries and has no distributor in the others. I suspect that the notoriety has overshadowed the sincere merits of the film.

The place is presented as several intercut stories. The stories themselves are almost completely isolated from one another aside from the fact that all the characters know each other quite well. The stories progress parallel to one another, and the characters have absolutely no interaction with one another until the next to last sequence. That scene may summarize the popular attitude that prevails among these teenagers, but it doesn’t pack mighty of a punch. In fact the whole movie doesn’t pack great of a punch. I’m not certain it really tries to. It simply tells these stories directly with not good judgments and lets them loose for the audience to get of them what they will.

That is not to say that the performances are worn. They aren’t. Most of the young actors had only marginal prior experience in film acting, but they gave decent, workmanlike performances that were perfectly adequate. The supporting adult actors were better, but they generously avoided overshadowing the less experienced actors. So there’s not any mismatch within the cast.

The cinematography, art direction, and editing don’t call attention to themselves which in this movie is a obliging thing. The special effects in the violent scenes are believable and seamless. I liked the plot the film looked.

The musical net is appropriate and not manipulative. It doesn’t fetch in the arrangement of our personal responses to the stories. That is a true strength in this film. The dialog is always positive. You won’t miss a single line. So the movie sounds obliging.

So there is nothing really cross with this film. The viewer will like or despise this film mainly based on how willing he is to empathize with the high schoolers whose stories execute the core of the movie. Those stories strike me as resplendent obscene, and the characters are not particularly sympathetic, but if they execute “buy-in,” the movie succeeds.

Some will be offended by the real sex in the film. Others will be offended that these actors are portraying underage characters. That’s a matter of personal preference and values, but the sexual contours of the characters’ lives are central to the film. So the film did not seem to be exploitive, prurient, or coy (like some of Larry Clark’s earlier films were) .

Taken in its entirety, the movie is lovely expedient and better than most of Larry Clark’s earlier films.

Ken Park was a really well done film it holds up to the Larry Clark standards some scenes were graphic and kind off made you believe to your self whats up with this movie but over all it is worth watching!

Universal has been releasing the Columbo - Mystery Movie Collection on DVD. This DVD boxed station continues where the last one left off with installments that were produced in the 1990s. When I initially posted this review, I made an error and listed the episodes expected in the NEXT DVD boxed spot, not this one. Thanks to Mike, Tom and Michael Todd for correcting this information.

For some viewers, these latter installments of the dirty-trench-coat-wearing, cigar-smoking sleuth are less satisfying and well-crafted than the recent series, but for me, ANY Columbo is better than 99 percent of the unusual TV roster.

The six mysteries in this boxed space were the last to be produced in the miniseries format, meaning the episodes each bustle about two hours, while the remaining Columbo mysteries produced were originally shown as one-shot 90-minute movie length specials and are yet to be released on DVD.

Collected here are:

Columbo Cries Wolf (which originally aired Jan. 20, 1990) : Two just iconic soap opera actors, Ian Buchanan and Deidra Hall, star in this episode as feuding business partners. Hall ends up tiresome and Columbo has to spend all of his skills to “explain” the crime.

Agenda for Execute (which aired Feb. 10, 1990) : Unbelievable actor Patrick McGoohan who has wowed fans since the 1960s Disaster Man, is also a finish friend of Falk’s. That’s very lucky for Columbo fans, because he has graced the series with some of the most memorable episodes of the series. This time out, he directs AND stars as a noteworthy attorney who has political aspirations - and a grand secret. Soon, a longtime blackmailer is lifeless and Columbo is matching wits with an attorney who has never lost - until now.

Rest in Peace, Mrs. Columbo (which aired March 31, 1990) : In an novel episode, Columbo is the target in this episode. A vengeful woman wants him to pay for the death of her husband, whom Columbo arrested for destroy and whom has recently died in prison. Leer out for a classic Columbo twist at the destroy.

The atrocious killers flaunt their sparkling superiority before the seemingly tiresome Columbo, who they are stupefied to learn is a lot smarter than he looks. Witness for the intelligent actor Robert Culp (I See), who himself has portrayed a abolish in three prior Columbos.

Some of the mysteries yet to be released on DVD include: Caution: Kill Can be Risky to Your Health (which originally aired 02/20/1991) ; The Slay of a Rock Star (which originally aired 04/29/1991) ; It’s All in the Game (which originally aired 10/31/1993) ; Butterfly in Shades of Grey (which originally aired 01/10/1994) ; and Undercover (which originally aired 05/02/1994) .

Let’s hope that Universal continues to release these unbelievable episodes, because there ALWAYS will be one more request!

Looking forward to the ‘class of 1990′ group. A couple of trusty classics!

…if you have never watched Gatchaman in your life and you like Japanese Animation ala Anime, you owe it to yourself to check this one out. I savor faded 1970’s Anime like the modern Mobile Suit Gundam and Gatchaman. If you have watched Battle of the Planets in the past man it doesn’t compare. Battle of the Planets was an extremely watered down-made for kids version of Gatchaman. The series does not enjoy nudity or anything like that, but the uncut ones prove people getting killed–lots of them per episode. Vol. 8 is the most intense of the series because the Science Ninja Team actually salvage defeated and their contaminated gets destroyed by the gross Galactor. Check them out. You will not be disappointed. BTW-they are dubbed superbly in English, and also have Japanese modern audio with subtitles. Tons of extras on the box sets.

I’m writing this two months before the release of the DVD and I’m posting this so people will have an concept as to what this is since its not certain.

This appears to be a version of Eddie Izzard’s expose Sexie from 2003 which was never released on DVD here in the US (This was taken at different performances of the note) . This is probably a first-rate thing since the state 2 DVD of Sexie seems to be Eddie on an off night

I saw the Sexie present a couple of times when it played live in the US and it really was a mixed bag. the first night I saw it I found it absolutely hysterically humorous. The second night was less as ample. The import DVD wasn’t all that estimable. Worthy of the material performed has to do with Eddie’s film career and when it works its very amusing. I’m guessing that this is going to be worth picking up for any one who is a fan of Eddie’s stand up because many of the bits are choice even if the present over all isn’t ample. Besides even allowing that this was recorded at a different series of shows than the novel DVD, Eddie’s shows are never the same, he’s always changing bits, indeed even his recorded shows are never the same with the audio tape, CDs and video recordings of his early shows all being different.

I bought this DVD and I because I am an Eddie Izzard fan, I also have Sexie and this is a completely different dwelling and a different venue. Any body who is a fan of Eddie will savor this immensely…as I did and it is improbable to search for him get on stage at a venue as iconic as WEMBLEY ARENA! I would recommend this to anyone.

AD (Advanced) Police started out as a take-off from Bubblegum Crisis, the 1990 epic of a private squad whose purpose was to discontinuance the spread of gross robots engineered by Genom Tech. Somewhat darker than it’s inspiration, the new AD Police only lasted three episodes and then disappeared. But, when Bubblegum Crisis 2040 appeared in 1999, Director Hidehito Ueda retried the race off opinion with this 12-part TV series.

The novel series has remarkable less depth than its ancestor, and focuses primarily on the ‘buddy’ relationship between Kenji Sasaki and his current partner Hans Klief. Situation in Genom City (a Tokyo revival) the AD team is dedicated to fighting rogue robots. Genom Corporation plays an anomalous role, sometimes villain and sometimes aid. One of the grey areas of the memoir is whether all the aroused robots are accidents or intentional. The underlying technical epic arc is the creation of engineered cyber-humanoids and the inevitable demand of where humanity starts and ends.

Essentially the series is a shoot out between the AD Police and escalating levels of robots. The phrase I obsolete as the title is a regular refrain on the indicate, because the team does not fare very well. Liam Fletcher, who is a ringleader gradual a long string of robot-nappings, generally runs rings around the police, causing a lot of blood and gear popping. Hans and Kenji are the cowboy heroes, breaking all the rules and occasionally actually saving the day. This isn’t a comedy, though, and the two stars have serious troubles of their absorb.

If you are a logician you are going to pick up a couple things that don’t acquire sense, but I wouldn’t misfortune about it, the point of the series is a lot of action, and a bit of dialog, not an quick-witted exhaust. What is unfamiliar is that, while done in 1999 the art and animation is very retro - straight out of 1990. This didn’t bother me, but I reflect a snappier production might have earned this series a longer race. But we’re fair viewers, ours not to reason why. The series is quite watchable, but is honest a diminutive too formulaic for my tastes.

Rented this one as the freebie in “rent 1, glean one free” & found it better than Wrath of the Ninja(the paid rental) . I rented a Bubblegum Crisis tape & couldn’t pick up it out of the machine quick enough, so I was tickled this one was so racy. It’s not groundbreaking or anything, but nice, engrossing fare, keeps the interest up, although one figures out the “secret” stunning grand as the display starts revealing it exists. The lead characters were attractive & seemed realistic enough–not fair something to indicate off the artist’s latest scantily-clad fantasy in action. Kenji starts off more of a jerk than Sad Schneider’s alleged to be by his show’s title, but warms up realistically–not overnight or miraculously the day he meets his modern partner. Hans is tragic & attractive, although maybe a bit dense–the average viewer should figure out his secret before he does(Kenji does) . Worth the time

Death Ticket is truly a well written and mind thinking anime for people of many ages. Impartial when one may believe you know where the memoir maybe going there is a twist in the yarn line. I would also highly suggest the Death Label books.

There is thus far nothing dismal in my world regarding Death Trace, including the more unique attempts at beating a boring horse with a stick with the live-action “L-change the WorLd” and the BB murders unusual. The only disappointing thing for me was the decision to not include L’s successors in the live-action Death Heed movies (though there is a vague nod to Arrive at the raze of “L-change the WorLd”) . Considering that the current manga is really an extremely convoluted mind-game of chess, where there are more notion bubbles than speech bubbles, it’s extraordinary that they were able to pull off fantastically the first two live action movies albeit in a truncated develop.

This is such a fun movie and I really enjoyed the commentary with Tim Burton and Paul Reubens.

I loved Pee Wee as a child and had both this movie and Expansive Top Pee Wee on VHS. I detached know both of them by heart and wanted to produce obvious that my kids had these movies too. I read the reviews about the movie being chop during editing and I contemplate the reviews were ridiculous. If you were to actually gape at the movie rush times, the older version was 92 minutes compared to this dvd running for 90 minutes. I dont contemplate 2 whole minutes of dinky cuts summed up changed the movie. I would have never noticed had I not had been looking for them because of the reviews I had read. There were some bloopers that were corrected though. We traditional to score a kick out of seeing Pee Wee pull the chain out of his bike but being able to ogle the chain coming up thru the bottom. This was corrected, but not to distress, there are tranquil some of the mountainous mess ups that contributed to the greatness of this masterpiece. Pee Wee may be a pervert, but if you did not adore this movie growing up, then you could not have been a satisfied child.

I must admit that I am usually not the first to review a Dora DVD, mainly because I rep her usual format a exiguous dull and repetitive. However, this one intrigued me because Dora was attmpting something she never had before: time move. And, seeing as how “A Christmas Carol” is one of my common stories, I decided to check this out. I was blissful to scrutinize that the creators had raised the bar much for this holiday outing.

As we join Dora and her friends for their Nochebuena (Christmas Eve) bash, Swiper arrives to do what he does best: consume everything away. Santa arrives to halt him–and also to command him he’s landed himself on the prankish list. Dora, moved by Swiper’s scrape, offers to collect him wait on on Santa’s great side. Using magical “move capes” they stir into the past and future to notice if Swiper can learn the good meaning of Christmas. Will they succeed, or will Swiper remain presentless?

What I like about this episode is that it breaks from the stale Dora mold. For example, Plan does not location the route that Dora must steal (though he does benefit in another contrivance during the bolt), and they don’t uncover the same thing incessantly. For fans of Dora these things might or might not be a turn-off, but if your preschooler can seize a change of slouch, they will collect the most well-crafted Dora special I’ve seen in a long time. It’s definitely a DVD to gaze at.
