As usual, there are three episodes from the Pokemon series on this DVD. Things commence off with a bang with the best episode on the DVD, Spinarak Attack! Ash and company hurry into a town filled with bug-type Spinarak, considerable to Misty’s panic. They also pick up Officer Jenny using her Spinarak to track down thieves who have taken the guise of the legendary Cat Burglar from years ago, who was finally captured by a Spinarak. Who could possibly be impersonating the noted thief? Why, it’s Jessie, James and Meowth, who else? And they are threatening to take a critical vase… can they be stopped? … probably. Next up is Snubble Snobbery. Pay attention in this one, because you’re going to inspect a running gag that will play out over the course of the series. A rich lady is smothering her pet Snubble, but Snubble doesn’t seem to savor it distinguished. When Team Rocket sneaks into the mansion, Snubble latches onto Meowth’s tail and they urge off with it. Can Ash earn Snubble abet to it’s owner? And even more importantly, does Snubble even want to go attend? Finally, in Exiguous Tremendous Horn, Brock finds a wounded baby Stantler in the park and helps heal it. Can they salvage its mother, and can Brock say goodbye to a Pokemon he’s grown attached to? Overall, this is a estimable prefer, especially if you’re a Pokemon fan.

This DVD contains three astronomical episodes. In the first episode Team Rocket is stealing things while pretending to be famouse cat burglars. It’s up to Ash, Misty, Brock, and Officer Jenny’s Spinarak to discontinuance them. Whatever will happen.

A massive, sprawling chronicle shot in the three camera Cinerama Process approved during the early 60’s, “How the West Was Won” spans from 1830 to 1880 covering the history of the westward expansion. Directed by three directors (John Ford, Henry Hathaway and George Marshall with a forth Richard Thorpe providing uncredited linking pieces) “How the West Was Won” was produced during the twilight of the western as the most current type genre.

Warner has done a painstaking job of restoring this classic film and although it isn’t perfect, it’s an exceptional job that deserves kudos. The film has never looked this top-notch with colors that pop and upright fleshtones. More famous the seams that one could leer for the separate cameras aren’t quite as glaring as before. The image quality is exceptionally crisp with terrific detail. Audio sounds extremely proper with a nice 5.1 mix.

The film is spread over two discs with the recent Overture and Alfred Newman’s pleasurable net included as portion of the package. We collect a terrific feature length commentary track from “West” stuntman Loren James who provides plenty of background details about the physical shooting of the film, filmmaker David Strohmaier, film scholar Rudy Behlmer, Cierama’s John Sittig and music historian Jon Burlingame. My only complaint is that Burlingame will produce a comment about listening to Newman’s edifying gain and then whomever edited his comments continues to play them correct over the music cue we should be listening to without interruption.

Buy,Download, Or Stream How the West Was Won! Click Here

The only other complaint that I have is that while the dirt and grit has been removed making the film peer advantageous, there’s one sequence that has always bugged me–there is a bit of dirt suitable in the middle of the frame of the opening skim over sequence that I wish they could have figured out how to steal. Other than that, it’s shapely composed looking throughout the presentation despite an occasiona bit of image unsteadiness as characters travel across the cloak and span of the three cameras lenses.

We also pick up a terrific hour and a half documentary on the Cinerama process on the third disc.

There are three different versions of the film in re-release: the first is a three disc DVD edition with unprejudiced the film; the second is the three disc region postcards, a reproduction of the unusual press book, souvenir book and photos as piece of the package;there is no equivalent for this SCE in the Blu-ray edition although it does have a booklet as allotment of that package.

The image and sound quality in this restored edition improves on the unique single disc edition of the film with a terrific commentary track and documentary to round out the site. With a sparkling casts (James Stewart, Gregory Peck, Carolyn Jones, Debbie Reynolds, Carol Baker, Lee J. Cobb, George Peppard, John Wayne, Lee Van Cleef, Karl Malden, Agnes Moorehead and others) this was truly one of the last story, lyrical westerns to be produced in Hollywood. Highly recommended.

If you’ve never seen the unusual Cinerama gargantuan mask release, or only know the previous video versions of HTWWW, you are in for a gargantuan treat. The fully restored classic American film, the top box office hit of 1962, is glorious.

And the Blu-ray hi-def transfer is truly breathtaking. I literally gasped when I saw it. And so have special preview audiences of the hi-def DVD.

Warner — which owns the pre 1986 MGM library — has spent a ton of dough getting this good. Six years, hundreds of people, thousands of hours and millions of dollars have been invested in creating and applying unusual technology that has virtually erased the “join lines” that marred the earlier — rather terrifying — video transfers. Not only that, but every frame has been restored. That’s the equivalent of restoring three 35 MM films — the unique was exposed using three alligned cameras. The final aspect ratio is 2.89:1 (that’s nearly three times as wide as it is high) . And it is a wondrous peek to peep.

Seeing this original version is like experiencing the film for the first time. The familiar record — based on a series in Life magazine — follows three generations of a typical pioneer Ohio Valley family from 1839 to 1889. A myriad of stars shine in this mountainous American adventure — John Wayne, Gregory Peck, Jimmy Stewart, Debbie Reynolds, Karl Malden, Lee J. Cobb and Carrol Baker are among the many recognizable faces.

Three accomplished directors (including John Ford) helmed this rousing memoir that does not degrade the Native American experience even as it allows for the conflicts the westward movement created.

The absolutely attractive Blu-ray version inlcudes a “smilebox” transfer that mimics the new Cinerama experience of a giant bent cover. On a tremendous video prove — especially if projected on a ample pull down hide — this version is jaw-dropping.

The extras include Rudy Strohmaier’s great acclaimed documentary “Cinerama Adventure.” And there’s a fabulous commentary by filmmaker Strohmaier, John Sittig (director of Cinerama, Inc.), film historian Rudy Behlmer, music historian Jon Burlingame and stuntman Loren James. But why no Debbie Reynolds?

The only other legend three camera Cinerama film is “The Amazing World of the Brothers Grimm” and the stored negative has suffered water pain so there are no plans for a bulky restoration at this time.

As a kid I saw this film at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood. The impact of the gigantic sound and images swept me away and I remember the experience vividly. The rousing music, the inviting heartland American anecdote calm works. And thanks to cutting edge technology, it’s better than ever.

This is one for the digital library.

Fellini’s theme of coming of age narrative works as a splendid nostalgic allotment. The film resonates from an earlier film of his 8 1/2 showing the director’s flashes to his seaside hometown. I’ve watched this film several times and on every occassion come by something fresh. Here’s a tip to indulge in watching a foreign film - Do NOT search for the English dubbed version if there is any - so noteworthy is lost in the film. Fellini’s films work with subtitles because they get you forget you’re reading them at all and as always, Fellini pleases both stare and ear and subsequently the heart. The musical win by Nino Rota is something one looks forward to in every scene. His music perfectly sets the tempo of each image, and I mean each and every one. What a duo of artistic genius these two men are! Watching the film on its splendid Criterion-restored DVD version, one can only wonder what the cinema world would be without Fellini.

The theme of this epic is the compassion that allows close-knit, small-town Italians in the 1930’s to lead a meaningful existence in the context of Fascist oppression and economic hardship.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Amarcord! Click Here

This legend is culturally primary because it shows the beauty of meaningfully existing, unchanged, amid destructive and oppressive forces. When a peacock lands in the snow with its handsome, vibrant blue and green feathers, it exemplifies beauty, simply existing, within harsh conditions. The point of the anecdote is not that the characters of this diminutive Italian town build any world-altering advances, but rather that they gain what they already have and admire–their sense of community and individual compassion–despite oppressive odds. Fellini gives his audience roguish adolescents, oblivious teachers, a “crazy” uncle, a laughable grandfather, an idealistic and extremely feminine beauty, a sterling but sickly mother and her easily-angered husband, dissatisfied workers, a story-telling lawyer, a prince, and a lying snack vendor. And none of these characters is ever treated inhumanely, or as being of any less value than any other. The uncle has an episode in which he climbs a tree and throws rocks at people who try to secure him down, all the while yelling, “I want a woman!” Hours pass and the doctor who eventually comes to glean him down remarks, “He has normal days, and he has not normal days…Unbiased like us.” Through the interaction of these characters, Fellini allows his audiences to encounter a town, the families, a community, and the simple life that exists within it. This film is mighty because it is saying that one does not have to defeat oppression to be sterling of being a model, seen and honored. You have only to live, to be yourself–which means to create–to be something distinguished and inviting.

I wish people wouldn’t write this movie off completely because it is worth watching…at least once. What you heard about Chris Klein is just. He gives the worst performance of the decade. And I’m not kidding. One reviewer said he couldn’t even slip convincingly and they weren’t exaggerating. It wasn’t that the script was abominable. The guy was hamming it up even when he wasn’t speaking at all. There wasn’t a second in this film where he showed any acting skills.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li! Click Here

Take Chris Klein out of the film, and Moon Bloodgood for that matter, and the movie is actually stunning excellent. Kristin Kreuk does a spacious job as Chun Li. Her action scenes behold well-behaved and her acting skills are magnificent noble as well. This could have been a mammoth movie for her and launched her movie career if only everybody else around her wasn’t doing such a awful job.

There’s one scene (and character) that should have been taken out of the movie completely. It’s where Chun Li goes to a nightclub to hunt down one of Bison’s goons who unprejudiced turns out to be a lesbian. In order for Chun Li to rep the lesbian alone, she seduces her on the dance floor. The scene is painful to recognize and adds nothing to the sage.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li! Click Here

There is some bad acting by shapely mighty all the other actors in this movie but Klein is BY FAR the worse. The action is, at times, very pleasant. The storyline could have been better. The only thing to scrutinize for is Kristin Kreuk. If there was an option on the DVD to buy out Chris Klein’s scenes, the movie would be far more delicious.

A film people worship to disapprove. Game films have no friends. Previous fans are let down and film buffs are insulted. And the cold guys want the exact thing; but this worth a peer. As a bottom feeder I’m impressed! The record and sound are the best I’ve seen in a year. And the DTS Loseless is the most much I’ve ever heard. Go ahead and mediate you’re better than this film. I’ll devour it for myself.

The film is radiant, cheesy wire-fu fun and sizable status photography. I was entertained like I was with Intrepid Trio even though it’s processed. Rotund disc, Anime film included.

Firstly, let’s commence off with the 5 stars that Beavis and Butt-Head deserves. Beavis and Butt-Head was tremendous television that pushed the edge of the envelope. It was generous so we’ll open with a five star rating. Unfortunately some decisions on the portion of the DVD producers detract from that…

Buy,Download, Or Stream Beavis and Butt-head - The Mike Judge Collection, Vol .2! Click Here

Selling the DVDs in ‘best of’ format rather than all the episodes in a format that preserves the broadcast timeline is, in my plan, a mistake. As other reviewers have pointed out, Mike Judge’s ‘best episodes’ aren’t necessarily mine. Then there’s the fact that 68 episodes are completely missing - that amounts to impartial over one third of Beavis and Butt-head that didn’t manufacture it into this station. Two stars removed for a flawed format that is very disappointing for those of us who want to gawk every Beavis & Butt-Head episode in its grand context.

Also, the deletion of positive lines of dialogue from clear episodes is absolutely outrageous. Those of us who appreciated ALL the writing have been swindled. One star removed for this unpleasant decision.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Beavis and Butt-head - The Mike Judge Collection, Vol .2! Click Here

Finally, in my idea, separating the music videos out and adding them as extras is a mammoth solution to a difficult jam. Some of us disliked the music videos while some liked them. Then there’s the scrape of obtaining copyright. This plot satisfies everyone as great as possible. We glean to watch the indicate without the distraction of the videos while those who enjoyed the music videos fetch to peek them. One star added for this proper decision. I only wish every decision made by the producers of this DVD box position was as shining as this one.

So all-in-all 3 stars.

Here are all the episodes that The Mike Assume Collection doesn’t include in the order they aired:

Peace Like & Thought, Blood Drive, Door-To-door, Heed Here, Balloon, Customers Suck, Heroes, Stewart’s House, Yogurt’s Frosty, Babes R Us, Friday Night, Scientific Stuff, At The Sideshow, Be All You Can Be, Burger World, Bedpans And Broomsticks, Ample Credit, Plot Down Mexico Design, For Better Or Verse, Beware Of The Butt, At The Movies, Sick, Baby Makes Uh - Three, The Butt-Head Experience, Comedians, Car Wash, Couch-Fishing, Kidnapped, Naked Colony, Tornado, Incognito, Cleaning House, Scratch ‘N’ Gain, Timorous Straight, Sperm Bank, Citizen Butt-Head, Suitable Crime, The Trial, Ball Breakers, Buff ‘N’ Stuff, Canoe, Eating Contest, Foreign Exchange, Beavis And Butt-Head Meet God, Young Gifted & Indecent, Politically Fair, Sporting Goods, Closing Time, Wall Of Youth, Cow Tipping, Exertion Urinating, Jump!, Pumping Iron, Let’s Dapper It Up, Water Safety, Beavis And Butt-Head’s Island, Crisis Line, Beard Boys, Hard Sell, Walking Erect, Career Day, Recall A Number, To The Rescue, I Dream Of Beavis, Screamers, Skin Trade, The Mystery Of Morning Wood.

Some of these are classic episodes. In my idea to omit any of them is a crime, especially considering that the moral fans of the prove have waited years hoping for ALL of B&B to finally be published.

Unlike the first volume, where Mike Believe edited dialogue bits out of more than half the episodes, the dreaded “director’s cuts” are nowhere to be found. Some reviewers here have suggested that this volume also contains altered versions of the cartoons, but all that is missing from them (as usual) are the music videos. The harsh fan reaction regarding the edited first volume apparently got wait on to Mike Assume, because he made the correct decision to retain this batch in their modern create.

Contrary to some reviewers’ claims, even after Volume 3 all the episodes will not have been released to DVD. Mike Consider has made it obvious that Volumes 1-3 will believe roughly two-thirds of the total episodes. He considers the rest to be too dreadful to be included.

I happen to agree with Mike Contemplate that, generally speaking, the later episodes are actually better than the earlier ones. But I mild strongly disagree with his decision to leave approximately one third of the episodes unreleased.

I’m happy the episodes tranquil here are complete. As for the bonus features, they are okay - I’m not clear there’s really enough to account for the third disc. The main featurette (Taint of Greatness Pt 2) is only about 20 minutes long - several minutes shorter than piece one - and is very heavy on episode clips. The selection of music videos is probably the only feature that most people will return to.

For those who have the Time-Life DVDs, you will bag many duplicate episodes (though not quite as many as with the first volume) .

Mary Poppins may be =the= stand-out live-action movie that Disney has ever produced. Or will ever produce.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Mary Poppins! Click Here

All the songs are very memorable. Who out there does not find themselves humming or even singing along with the likes of “Chim-Chim-Cheree” or “Spoonful of Sugar”?

Julie Andrews will always be remembered for her role as Mary Poppins, and Dick Van Dyke absolutely shines as Bert the Chimney Sweep. Van Dyke also plays the senior officer of the bank - and has his very best scene where he realizes that the punchline - “A wooden leg named Smith” - is funny. Andrews won an Academy Award for Mary Poppins, and the movie also won Best Visual Effects, and Best Music Score, as well as Best Song (”Chim Chim Cher-ee”).

Buy,Download, Or Stream Mary Poppins! Click Here

The scene where “I love to laugh” is particularly poignant. Ed Wynn died not long after the release of Mary Poppins, and shows some of his best comedy style in this scene. Very laughable.

The story is top-notch and has a wonderful moral without being too “preachy”. It was a very good adaptation from the original novel, and it’s a shame Disney never did any of P L Traver’s own sequels to Mary Poppins.

The animated bits are a little flat by today’s standards, but they add a wonderful whimsey to a stellar production. Highly recommended to any family with children. A must-buy for Disney fans.

This is the far better, two-disc, 40th anniversary edition that not only restores everything to digital quality, but adds a second disc of deleted scenes (and a song!), commentary, and many other cool new features. Look for the new 40th anniversary DVD edition - it’s worth waiting for!

It’s just supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

“Mary Poppins” is one of that select group of films that can truly be called ‘Classic’, a project conceived in love and filled with so much child-like wonder that it will never grow old or ‘out-of-date’. Certainly the crowning achievement of Walt Disney’s remarkable career, the “Mary Poppins” 40th Anniversary Special Edition is simply magnificent!

Based on P.L. Travers’ tales of a magical nanny who arrives to bring families closer, the rights to the stories had been pursued by Disney since 1938, but Travers had seen what studios had done to other authors’ works, and withheld her approval unless she could maintain some creative control. Years of negotiations only whetted Disney’s desire to make a definitive, truly ’special’ film, and by 1960, despite the box office failure of another fantasy-themed ‘pet’ project, “Darby O’Gill and the Little People”, he was more confident than ever in the story’s potential, bringing together a remarkable array of talent, including songwriting brothers Richard and Robert Sherman, production head Bill Walsh, and the brilliant artist Peter Ellenshaw to ‘visualize’ 1910 London through his matte paintings.

With Travers’ grudging approval, casting began. While American stage and TV star Dick Van Dyke was an odd choice to play a Cockney chimneysweep, he was a gifted mime and physical comedian, and had such a wholesome exuberance that Disney knew British audiences would forgive his shaky accent. Popular British actors Glynis Johns and David Tomlinson would play the preoccupied parents, with Karen Dotrice and Matthew Garber (from “The Three Lives of Thomasina”) as the neglected children. Veteran stars Ed Wynn, Elsa Lanchester, Reginald Owen, Arthur Treacher, and Jane Darwell (as the Bird Woman, in her last screen appearance), headed the strong supporting cast.

But it was the casting of Julie Andrews, in her first film, as Mary Poppins, that truly ‘made’ the film! Passed over by Jack Warner for the movie version of her stage hit, “My Fair Lady” (he opted for Audrey Hepburn), Disney caught her performance in “Camelot” on Broadway, knew, instantly, that she was the right ‘Mary’, and approached her for the role. “But I’m pregnant,” she told him. “No problem,” he replied. “I’ll wait!”

And thus a Classic was born!

A multiple 1964 Oscar winner (including ‘Best Actress’ for Andrews, who got to share the stage with her “Lady” costar, Rex Harrison, who won ‘Best Actor’), the film was a major hit, worldwide, and quickly achieved the legendary status it holds today.

For it’s 40th Anniversary, Disney’s heirs have put together a spectacular package; along with the digitally-remastered film (it looks and sounds SUPERB!), a second disc of additional features includes a joyous reunion of stars Andrews and Van Dyke (who both seem ageless!); reminiscences of Robert Sherman, who sings a cute ditty cut from the final film; a fascinating 50-minute “behind-the-scenes” documentary about the production; featurettes on how the FX were achieved in several key scenes; and much, MUCH more! As the owner of several “Special Edition” Disney DVDs, I can honestly say, THIS is the BEST, yet!

With the holidays fast approaching, I can’t think of a finer gift to give, or to get!

“Round up the usual suspects.” And so they do - and ending up in the lineup are career criminals Michael McManus, Fred Fenster and Todd Hockney (Stephen Baldwin, Benicio del Toro and Kevin Pollack), ex-cop gone awful gone estimable again Dean Keaton (Gabriel Byrne) and small-time con man Verbal Kint (Kevin Spacey) .

Wait a puny … five criminals in one lineup? There’s something inappropriate here, suitable? Good …

In “The Usual Suspects,” not only every line but every gesture, every facial expression and every camera prick counts. Even if you distrust the tale being told, you can’t exactly pin down everything that’s rotten with it. The place unfolds through the account extracted from Kint, one of two survivors of a massacre and subsequent explosion on a boat docked in San Pedro Harbor, by U.S. Customs agent David Kujan (Chazz Palminteri) . And at the same time as Kint is spinning his account, in a nearby hospital the other survivor (badly injured and unique out of a coma) helps a police sketch artist device a characterize of the mastermind slack the intention - “the devil,” Keyser Söze.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Usual Suspects! Click Here

You can gawk this movie countless times, and you will aloof glance original subtleties every single time. Not only will you bag that it aloof makes sense after the account line has been unraveled at the demolish (which therefore is a place twist, not a non-sequitur) . You’ll also examine nuance upon nuance in Kevin Spacey’s fantastic performance. You’ll gaze that miniature apologetic grin on Todd Hockney’s face as attorney Kobayashi (Pete Postlethwaite) lists a weapons truck heist - the very act which brought them together in the initial lineup, and which they have all arrive to gain to have been a trumped-up charge - as Hockney’s latest sin against Keyser Söze, now forming fraction of the debt to be repaid by participating in the suicide mission in San Pedro Harbor. And at some point you’ll also have figured out all of Fenster’s lines (not being a native English speaker, I am relieved to procure that I wasn’t the only one struggling with them at first) … although the mumbling is of course piece of his character, and is as excellently delivered as every other aspect of Benicio del Toro’s acting, his lines are so amusing and to the point you almost wish he’d scream more clearly so you wouldn’t miss half his punch lines the first time around.

Among a cast of grand actors (to name unprejudiced two, Gabriel Byrne in one of his best performances and Benicio del Toro, deserving worthy more than unbiased an “also starring” mentioning in the opening credits), Kevin Spacey’s star shines brightest. To this day it is a mystery to me how he came to be awarded the Academy Award for Best *Supporting* Actor - the only things the man supports (in fact carries, almost single-handedly) in this movie are Bryan Singer’s directing and Christopher McQuarrie’s screenplay, and that alone makes him the movie’s lead character. But regardless of its title, the award was more than justified, and so was the one for McQuarrie’s screenplay. With infinite trust in the audience’s ability to rob up on exiguous gestures, looks and inflections of his whine, Kevin Spacey displays all the many aspects of his character at the same time; and even the tenth time around, his performance composed holds as accurate as the first time you stare the movie. Almost dumb he tells his legend, always seeming to give away unbiased about as worthy as he has to, and only raising his hiss for a pointed (and exquisitely timed) expletive upon first being confronted with the name Keyser Söze, and for a wailing “Why me?? ” as agent Kujan tries to convince him that his absorb archenemy, Keaton, has been gradual their failed enterprise all along and purposely let him (Kint) live to screech their anecdote.

This is one of those movies which have you quote their many memorable one-liners forever. (Honest perceive at how many reviewers on this set alone are quoting the one about “the devil’s greatest trick.”) To the extent that it cites other works, those citations pay homage, they don’t merely copy - true down to the name of the movie’s production company (Blue Parrot/Bad Hat) ; like the title containing a reference to “Casablanca,” the prototype of all films noir (or those made in Hollywood at least) . It is one of the best unusual examples of the genre and has long since become a cult classic - it’s a must in every decent collection.

The place? Following a bloody shoot-out aboard a ship moored at a Santa Monica pier, the police query a hood by the name of Verbal Kint in an attempt to learn about what happened. We watch several different possibilities and the final retort we gain is a staunch surprise.

Typically movies rely upon special effects, left-field dwelling twists, and brand-name casting to pick up the job done. “The Usual Suspects” relies on an generous script, proper direction and unbelievable acting from people who might not necessarily be household names. Contemplate at this cast- Stephen Baldwin, Kevin Pollack, Benicio Del Toro, Gabriel Byrne, Kevin Spacey, Chazz Palminteri, Dan Hedaya, and Pete Postlethwaite. This is some serious acting talent to ogle. They all are tremendous, but in particular Gabriel Byrne (Dean Keaton) and Kevin Spacey (Verbal Kint) grunt exceptional performances. Neither man is quite who they seem to be. Spacey won a well-deserved Oscar for his performance in this film.

Director Brian Singer does a shimmering job coaxing terrific acting performances from his cast. This was a tought movie to perform and he pulled it off in spades.

I was surprised when I saw how few reviews there were for this film. It must be a staunch sleeper, but boy is it a beneficial movie. Comic, a bit serious and fun to inspect.

Notle delivers a solid performance but it is Short that makes the movie shine through his intellectual comedy. There were many laugh out load scenes in this movie and it is fun to survey more than once.

Notle is an ex con going straight and Short is the straight but desperate man turning to crime. The straight man/comic routine really comes across well between these two characters. If you enjoyed “Pure Luck” with Glover as the straight man, you’ll also luxuriate in this film. I give a strong recommendation to this movie.

Martin Short and Cut Nolte are astounding in this adorable film. James Earl Jones and Alan Ruck (That guy from Hasten, Twister, and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off) also do huge jobs. Both kids and adults will admire it. I searched for this movie for three months and I finally found it. Searching was no fun, but it was worth it.
